How are the cabins delivered?

Our cabins to rent are transported to your location using specialised vehicles. Please ensure there is clear access with minimum clearance dimensions of 3.9m in width and 3.6m in height.

Can I arrange my own pickup for the cabin?

For safety and insurance reasons, only our professional delivery team is authorised to transport the cabins.

Do the cabins remain on the trailer during use?

Yes, our cabins are constructed on a trailer chassis and remain on the trailer throughout the rental period. The tow bar can be retracted and/or removed once on site for ease of use while at your site.

Is building consent required for placing a cabin on my property?

Generally, building consent is not necessary as our cabins to rent are considered temporary structures, similar to caravans. However, resource consent may be required if the cabin is positioned too close to a boundary. We recommend checking with your local council for specific regulations.

How is the cabin powered?

Each cabin comes with a 15m power cord that can be plugged into a standard 3-pin power point socket, providing a 10-amp supply. A 16amp connection is possible if using a caravan supply.

What is the minimum rental period for a cabin?

The minimum rental period is 3 months for all our cabins.

Is a security bond required?

Yes, a bond is required, with the amount varying depending on the cabin type and rental terms.

Is a credit check part of the rental application process?

Yes, we conduct a credit check as part of our standard rental application procedure to ensure suitability.

What do I need to consider when choosing a site to place the cabin?

A flat or near-level site is necessary, with 3.5m of clear space around the cabin and 3.6m of clear space above the ground to facilitate delivery and setup. Ensure there is sufficient space to maneuver the cabin into position by carefully selecting your site, moving obstructions, and trimming tree branches, etc.

How close to the property boundary can the cabin be placed?

It is recommended to position the cabin 3m from the boundary. permission from neighbours may be needed for closer placement, consult your local council for specific regulations.

Are pets allowed inside the cabins?

No, pets are not permitted inside the cabins to rent. Additional cleaning charges may apply if animal odours or damage is detected.

Is smoking permitted in the cabins?

No, smoking is strictly prohibited inside the cabins. Additional cleaning charges may apply if smoke odors or damage is detected.

How can I connect a television in the cabin?

A TV aerial cable is provided under the cabin for your convenience. If you wish to install a Sky dish, it must be mounted on a nearby building or post, not on the cabin itself.

Are appliances & furniture included with the cabin rental?

No, appliances and furniture are not included. You will need to supply your own furnishings to suit your needs.

Can I use gas appliances, including heaters, in the cabin?

Due to the confined interior spaces of our cabins to rent, the use of gas appliances is not permitted for customer and cabin safety.

How can I set up phone and internet services in the cabin?

A phone/internet cable is provided under the cabin for connection to your main dwelling. For Wi-Fi, we recommend testing the connection from the intended cabin location prior to delivery to ensure adequate coverage.

What toilet facilities are available with the cabins?

We offer two options for our Taupō & Rotomā Cabins to rent; a chemical toilet with a holding tank, or a standard flush toilet with a pump system. Please note, the flush toilet option may incur additional weekly charges.

How is greywater managed if I do not hire a flush toilet?

For our Taupō & Rotomā Cabins to rent, greywater can be directed into a bucket, an external portable tank, or a soak hole, depending on your preference and site suitability.

How is hot water supplied to the cabin?

For our Taupō & Rotomā Cabins to rent, Hot water is provided via a gas califont system. You will need to supply two 9kg gas bottles for this connection.

How is the water connected to the cabin?

For our Taupō & Rotomā Cabins to rent, we supply a 15mm alkathene hose to connect the cabin to an external tap. There is a one-time hose hire fee of $5 per meter for the duration of the cabin hire. Standard garden hoses are not able to be used, due to the possibility of chemical leaching. A minimum water pressure of 30kpa, with a flow rate of 5 litres per minute, is required to run the cabin's gas califont (hot water heater).
